Way back, when I was but a wee lass of nine or ten, Senator John McCain was involved in a scandal dubbed "The Keating 5." I've heard this phrase getting thrown around left and right, but nobody ever provided details of what happened. Some even said that McCain was a sort of sacrificial lamb, innocent of all charges!

This weekend, McCain's campaign announced they were going 100% negative. Palin kicked off the festivities by saying that Obama was "palling around with terrorists." A reference to Ayers. Many people following this ongoing drama (better than anything else on television) braced themselves for just how ugly McCain could get.

And while everybody was focused on that, Obama's campaign calmly unveiled Keating Economics. A 13 minute documentary about McCain's role in the failure of the Lincoln S&L will debut on the site tomorrow. Spread the word!!!

this is just going to get really bad. I want to talk about the issues and how they are going to fix things. Ugly should not be approved and supported.

This is part of the issues. The fact is that the Keating scandal is very similar to the current economic crisis. McCain has been crowing about his part in the current bail out plan. He's been insisting that he knows how to fix things, that he's a reformer, that he's going to be able to save the country and nobody else. I think that people need to see that not only is all of that false, but if "past is prologue," a McCain administration will make things worse, not better.

this came up on Morning Joe but I had to leave for work. That is nothing but a roadblock they are trying to use and not talk about the issues. I really hope the American people will see through the smoke screens.
