1776
1776 fic makes me happy, on principle. The fact that some exists in the world is always enough to smile. Fortunately, The Mere Shadow of a Man is a really good fic. It's short and rough and a little disturbing (and disturbed) and wonderfully in character. Wilson/Dickenson
"RIGHT," Dickenson groaned, and Wilson groaned too, only partially for the same reason. It wasn't that he minded listening to Dickenson expound on their strategy-- or lack thereof, it seemed sometimes, for Dickenson was truly and utterly secure in the natural rightness of his position-- it was that he had to talk about it... NOW.

The Addams Family (movie)
The Last Rites of Wednesday Adams. At times funny, at times hot (When is Gomez and Morticia not hot?), at times even sad, and altogether kooky, this is a fantastic fic.
When Wednesday was born, Morticia and her mother were pleased. A new child, hopefully to live up to the Nightshade name. As she grew, she most definitely reflected the Nightshade side of the family: soft-voiced (all the better to force your enemies to pay attention to you - anyone can ignore a ranting and raving psychopath), deadly in her aim with the required weapons, and a regular strega in the kitchen, though Wednesday preferred potions and poisons to everyday meals.

Arrested Development
Dos Hermanos Estupidos. It's short and sweet, but GOB's voice is spot on.
Michael gave it the five-second consideration the idea deserved. "Okay...um...crazy question here, but where are we going?"

GOB laughed. "C'mon, Michael, you don't need a destination. Destinations are for nerds! And people living in the past!"

Bang! Bang! My Baby Shot Me Down
So far, my favorite fic...no, my favorite anything ever. Maeby rebels against her parents by going to a month-long Bear Hunting camp. Where she meets Stephen T. Colbert. I know, you might be skeptical, but the author nailed it. Maeby's voice is spot on. The whole Bluth clan is perfect. And Stephen...well...Stephen's insane.
"Listen to me Definitely." He curls his fingers towards her and leans in. "I'm playing it fast and loose with the wisdom tonight so let me tell you what I do when I feel homesick: I never am. That's right - America is my home and I am always in America. Even when I'm not in America, because America is in me. Do you follow?"

Maeby widens her eyes and smiles like Uncle Michael.

"I guess what I'm saying is if you were a real patriot, you wouldn't feel homesick. So, something to think about? From God's lips to my ears, to your ears from my lips, and then maybe to the ears of that guy over there. Or the lips. Those are some nice lips."

Stephen's attention is diverted and Maeby miserably follows his gaze. Great. Now she misses her Dad.

Boston Legal
Pause(s) de Deux is only as gay as the source material...so it's wonderfully sweet and funny and sexy and gay.

Alan set the glasses down and stretched out, thanking the powers that be for Denny's homophobia. Any other man might have found sharing cherry filled drinks, by candlelight, with another man, on fluffy makeshift bedding, by the ocean, under the stars, to be somewhat gay. However the irony was that so firmly rooted was Denny's homophobia, that it never even crossed his mind that anything he did could be described that way.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
This movie makes me happy. Fanfic like Just Another Day At Work also makes me happy. It's short and fun and Harry's voice is spot-on.
All right; maybe you could. Although Perry's not sappy. People think, because he's gay, he's all about flowers and puppies and shit. So, OK, yeah; the guy wears pink shirts and cares about color co-ordination, but he'll kick you in the nuts sooner than lick them. Though he might offer to lick them and then bite them off. That's the kind of guy Perry is.

But what really makes me happy is slashy fic like The Other Line. Because, let's face it, everybody should be gay for Gay Perry.
"Come talk to me when you're not drunk," Perry said, his fingers digging into Harry's hip, making him feel breathless all over again. "I'll fuck you through the floor, Harry. You won't be able to move for a week, and every time you try, you'll think about me, not her. And every time you think about me, you'll want to do it all over again. Okay?"

"Uh," Harry said, licking his lips, watching Perry watch him lick his lips. "Okay."

Ladyhawke
Faith is just an exquisitely beautiful little story.
Afterward, as the sky pales lavender and then gold with the promise of dawn, Isabeau touches a hand to her wrist where once he would kiss her, and smiles. "Will you still find me beautiful?"

Like the sun is beautiful, his memory answers. And dusk, and the moon, and the stars.

Ocean's 11
The Genuine Article. If there is anything on this planet better than Danny/Rusty slash, I don't know what it is.
"Getting old," Rusty says. "I should be glad you remember my name."

He leans back against Danny's body, and Danny wraps an arm around his waist, pressing them together. His cock lengthens against the warm curve of Rusty's ass.

"I haven't used your name, yet," he says, dragging his tongue up to lick at that spot behind Rusty's ear.

Imagine the Odds. I'm not sure if my favorite part of the story is the hot hot sex, OR the wonderful characterization of the entire gang. Oh, who am I kidding? It's the hot hot sex, but the characterization is fabulous, too.

"Nothing. Yet," Rusty said, brandishing a small black tube. "What do you say, Danny? Haven't had a chance since Reuben's casino opened."

Danny considered that while he made room for Rusty on the bed. "It's not really that long, is it?"

"That's what you said the first time you saw it." Rusty quipped. Danny didn't bother dignifying that with a verbal response, instead turning over and pinning Rusty to the bed, shutting him up with a kiss while he lifted the lube from Rusty's hand like the light-fingered crook he'd started as. Which was probably what Rusty had intended.
