Please respond. It would make me very happy.
By "general fic", I mean that it wouldn't have a ship or character specified. For example, somebody could write a fic about Spike that has elements of Spuffy or Spangel or Spred etc, but the story would be about Spike. Or, somebody could write a fic that doesn't have elements of a ship at all. Either way, a ship(s) wouldn't be the focal point or purpose of the story.

Oh god, yes. This is such a great idea. Because sometimes you just want a really good story, without all the interrelationship tangles. I mean, if 'Hush' or 'Restless' were fics, they would have virtually no place to go because they're not shippy enough.

There are tons of fanfic archives out there that are not Spike related. You just have to find them.
