Weeee! What a great way to start the season. There were some things I figured would happen (Danny asked to come back) and some things I never saw coming (Aceveda deciding he'd like to keep his job for as long as possible. Poor Claudette.) I did not expect Julian to get all bad ass. I have a feeling that he's on his way to becoming a Bad Cop, especially without Danny there to keep him even...unless, Aceveda pairs Danny with Julian again. Which could be interesting, because apparently he wants Danny to be a narc.
I really liked Vic in this episode....though all the ins and outs and complications with the money made me wince. They're already ratcheting up the tension there. I was surprised he went directly to his stash of money to buy the guns. Although, really, what choice did he have? If he didn't fix this mess now, he'd be cleaning up a lot of corpses. If he happens to give them the marked bills, how easy would it be to trace the money back to Vic himself? If he's buying guns from a major player who probably sees a lot of income, would they think to trace it back to Vic? How does that work anyway?
I also loved Dutch, but then, who doesn't? I really like his...intuition, I guess. Alhough I kinda feel sorry for the guy. They never believe him! He's like an uglier, geekier, more skeptical version of Mulder. Obviously the guy knows what he's talking about. I like Dutch so much that I'm afraid something horrible is going to happen to him. Every time he opens a box, or goes in a house, or leaves the Barn at all, I'm scared he's going to die. Last season I thought he was on a crash course to hell...I was very surprised when it was Danny's career that blew up.
Can't wait til next week!
If you didn't watch the show last night, watch it this week. FX will replay it. *shakes fist menacingly*
