I was going to post last night when I got home about how I went to see Atherton, and how I really liked the show, but then my nose started to bleed for the second time in as many weeks, so I decided to just clean myself up and go to bed.
I'll talk about my adventures now! All of the websites/reviews/info I found about the W Lounge said they opened at 8, so I figured getting there at 9 would be reasonable. Turns out they open at 9 and getting there at 10 would be reasonable. So we waited in the car til 9:30, then decided to run over to the gas station real quick. That's when we found out we were going to get a parking ticket. We argued with the parking ticket guy until he realized we stopped there, but we never got out of the car, so he said he wouldn't give us a ticket.
Then we go inside, become members, get a parking validation, and order a few beers, watching as the band does soundcheck. The club is about the size of a living room. Slowly, ever so slowly, other people filter in, until there are about 20 people in there, counting the staff. After they got all set up, Ryan came over to where I was sitting and was all, "Haley, right?" So we reintroduced ourselves, and he is very, very nice. We talked for a few minutes, and then we talked for a few minutes after they played so I could tell them how awesome they were. He promised me he'd let me know about their future gigs during the summer. I'm probably going to become a groupie, seriously. They're just the sort of band I could completely fall in love with.
