Well, I suppose I have some responsibility as well.
Jaime's brother gave us $100 card to Best Buy, so we decided to go shopping today. Between the two of us, we grabbed Arrested Development, Simpsons S4, Mystery Science Theater Vol 6, and Home Movies S1. this is well over $100, but we want them all.
So then we notice that they are selling a laserjet printer for $150. We need one of those very, VERY much. I've had no printer for a year and it's a problem that needs to be fixed before I graduate.
Then we see a dishwasher. The small kind that sits on the counter. This is $160. We both hate washing dishes, so I can see making a $60 investment, if it means improving our lives.
So ultimately we put everything away and left without spending a penny. This is not our regular MO.
In other news, I decided I wanted to try to write a book for Harlequin--the Blaze imprint to be specific. So I decided to buy a handful at the used book store to do research. I'm watching A Midsummer Night's Dream right now on IFC to apologize to my brain. I should read it too to get my English major cred back. Either way, I think I could write this novel and I pretty much have an idea and I'm ready to go.
Why write specifically for Harlequin at all?
Because I'm feeling kinda worthless right now and I want to make some money. (Worthless in the sense that I'm not really bringing in an income anyway, and I really won't be after May. Though I am going to set an appointment at the Career Development Center and get my resume cleaned up.)
Jaime has flu like symptoms. Fortunately, I don't have school tomorrow, so I'll be able to take care of him if needs be.
One of the other agents I queried requested the first 50 pages. :) *crosses fingers*
