So I made a bunch of oatmeal cookies from [livejournal.com profile] sweet_ali's recipe and

*drum roll please*

They're edible! Maybe not the best cookies anybody ever had but they aren't burnt, they aren't...well, wahtever it is that cookies do when I bake them...and they're yummy.

Go me.

Yay, Pepper on the oatmeal cookies - you sound much better than the other day - all cookie despondant. How did the sugar cookie mix turn out? It's pretty foolproof as far as the dough is concerned - just have to be really careful with the baking time. Just a second or two between a perfectly baked gem and a crispy critter!

Actually I've used the mix before and was really pleased with the results. I just thought I'd try to do it the old-fashioned way this time, but fuck that shit. It's mix all the way for me from now on!

On a funny note, I got the last package of sugar cookie mix. Aparently I'm not the only who decided it wasn't worth the effort!

burning? that chaps my ass.

Try opening the oven door for a f ew seconds longer when you put the cookies in, try putting in the cookies on a higher shelf level and this is the one that has the most effect for me, try some different cookie sheets. I have three and the flat tinny one used to work so great a tthe old place, but now burns all. The air filled high end princess one works the best and it never worked well at the old oven.

Congratulations! Whenever I bake cookies they always come out burnt and it doesn't matter what recipe I use.
