I've never, ever been able to make a decent batch of cookies. My dough is cooling while I run to the store...if I fuck up the cookies for the 16th year in a row, I'm going to be pissed, I tell ya what.

Parchment paper. Parchment paper makes all the difference. Keeps the cookies from sticking and spreads the heat out more evenly so they don't burn so easily.
