eurydice72's birthday. I'm just happy I got it done before the sun officially rose, though it's getting light outside. Anyway, I hope you like it and it's not the suck. Also, I'm aware there appears to be a continuity error in there. Work with me here.
Buffy liked to keep her routine simple. Simple was good. Simple was mindless. A simple routine allowed her to focus on something besides living. She always worked the same shift at Helen’s Kitchen, which went from the early morning rush through the lunchtime slam. She left her apartment at five every morning, began to her shift at five thirty, and trudged back to her makeshift home by three in the afternoon. Unless somebody needed her to cover a shift, which she always agreed to do.
The other girls had real homes.
Real families.
Real emergencies.
Buffy’s biggest emergency was when she forgot to bring food home from work, and even that wasn’t a very big deal. She didn’t have an appetite.
