Marching On

I finished The Highwayman Revisited, a response to a publisher's call for "twisted fairy tales," and sent the MS to my betas and the synopsis and query to the publisher.

That's two now. I think tomorrow I'll start work on The Zebra Wore Fishnets for Ellora's Cave.

Man, I'm going to be fucked if I get nothing but a flurry of rejections.

Permament account envy

Oh, I want 100 icons. I want to be here forever. Jaime said I could buy one now and we can send a check after he gets paid and that'll be fine. But then I got to thinking, "What if I buy this and then two weeks later say, 'Man. FUCK LJ!'" that would suck. I'm not saying it would happen. But it would suck.

Maybe they'll make them available some day, some morning, some time, and when they do, I'll have the money.

Tuna in oil

Can somebody explain tuna in oil to me? What a horrible, oily mess. *shudder*

It doesn't taste much different to me...except maybe the tuna seems to have a fuller flavor. Is that the point?

Also, is there a way to drain it without getting yucky oil all over my hands? I really, really hate that.

I also just got off the phone with Shirley at Premiere Tutoring Center. They're looking for teachers from June 27 to Sep 2. I applied there about three weeks ago, but this is the first I heard back, and now I have an interview on Thursday at 11!

It's West Covina, about 20 miles away. Hopefully the traffic won't be a killer. Of course if I get a job, it'll cut back on my writing time, but shoot! Money!

Fashion

It's become increasingly clear to me, as I write, that I need my own personal fashion consultant. Somebody I can PM out of the blue and get fashion tips for men and women from say, the 17th century until present day. I swear, the best I can do is "She wore a dress" "She wore pants" "She wore a skirt" and "Her blouse wasn't too ugly."
