I was listening to the classic country station today while reading and trying to get the nasties off of my computer, and I noticed a "fun fact" during a Johnny Cash song. One of his daughters was married to Marty Stuart in the 80s...and I got to thinking that it wasn't entirely uncommon for their to be a sort of Empire building tendency in country music...Johnny Cash's family is a good example of this. And I got to thinking how there tends to be more of this in country music than say, rock. And I got to thinking "What would it take to build a sort of empire?"

So far my fictional country music stars are two generations deep, responsible for one divorce, one suicide, a few CMAs, a few grammys...

I'll probably have a half-century long saga by the end of the night.
I did read the first 250 pages of Sense and Sensibility and then I finished the first chapter of the story I'm writing for the winning bidder...which, I think, is pretty goddamned impressive. Now I'm going to finish my book and watch Deadwood cuz I missed it last night.

Grrr, my computer has been acting strange. no matter what I do, it's not enough. Why, George, why? Why are you doing this to me?

Also Ghost sucks as much as I remember, and the lyrics to the Princess Bride theme also suck, and I've hit the third generation of my wacky Country artist empire.
